About Ffos Las Racecourse
In June 2009 Ffos Las became Wales's first racecourse to open in more than 80 years. This site, near Llanelli, was transformed from what was once an open-cast mine. The course is a mile and a half long and 60m wide, it is is divided into a 20m chase course on the inside, 20m hurdles in the middle and 20m flat on the outside.

Left-handed oval track of 1½ miles. It's a good galloping track, with 2 long straights, sweeping bends at either end. 5 and 6 furlong races are run in a straight line from a chute at the start of the home straight.
Similar going conditions as the flat track, with 6 hurdles per circuit on the hurdle track and 8 fences on the chase track.

- From The East – Take Junction 48 (M4) joining the A4138 to Llanelli and follow the brown signs.
- From The West – Follow the A40 to Carmarthen, then the A484 to Llanelli and follow the brown signs.
- From Cross Hands – Take the A476 towards Llanelli and follow the brown signs.
