Marcus is best known as the trainer of Sir Percy, who was second in the 2,000 Guineas, before winning the Derby in 2006. Several of his current horses in training are by Sir Percy, who has passed on his stamina and courage to his offspring.

The private estate at Whitsbury Manor Stables provides an excellent environment for racehorses to be trained effectively to their individual requirements.

The yard consists of traditional brick stables and thatched barns, with a capacity to stable up to eighty horses. There are also extensive grass gallops ranging in distance from six furlongs to over one mile.
