Middleham Park Racing

Middleham Park Racing

A family run business, celebrating over 25 years of successful racehorse syndication. They've had over 1,000 winners, with both flat and national hunt horses.

Shares are available from 2.5% upwards and with a 25% share you become a named owner on the racecard.

Owners receive a share of race prize money and sale returns when a the horse is sold. The average number of owners in their syndicates is 16-20, so no ballots for qwners' badges when the horse runs.

Syndicate horses are trained throughout the UK and Ireland, including strings with Richard Fahey, Richard Hannon and Mark Johnston on the flat and Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls over the jumps.

They are committed to providing winners and fun for their owners. In the words of Tim Palin "Middleham Park is about serving people; providing them with a choice of top class bloodstock to buy into, taking owners to the stables to see their horses and talk with their trainers, firing in the winners and putting a smile on their faces. That makes the long hours all worthwhile."

Their site includes details of all their horses, including those with shares currently available. Joining a syndicate involves an upfront payment, plus regular monthly payments. The upfront payment includes the purchase price of the horse, plus sales commission, agents commission etc. Monthly payments cover things like training expenses, vet bills, feed, transport to the racecourse and owners badges. It does not include race entries, which come out of the prize money if the horse wins.

Contracts run for a minimum of 12 months for flat horses and 18 months for national hunt, after that they require a months notice to cancel. If cancelling you relinquish the upfront payment.

They organise year-round open mornings at all their trainers, both during the on and off season. Allowing plenty of opportunities to get up close & personal with the horse, hear the trainer's thoughts and meet up with fellow syndicate members.
