Doncaster Racecourse is part of Arena Racing Company (ARC) which operates 16 racecourses across the UK.It is a versatile venue that's available all year round, for race days and other events such as weddings, conferences and meetings. Doncaster hosts a number of top quality races, with the highlight being the St Leger Stakes, which is the world's oldest classic horse race and is the fifth classic of the British flat racing season. It also hosts the Racing Post Trophy, which is also a Group 1 races, plus a number of Group 2 races, including the: Park Hill Stakes, Flying Childers Stakes, Doncaster Cup, May Hill Stakes, Champagne Stakes and Park Stakes.

Course Details


Left-handed, pear-shaped, galloping course, of almost 2 miles round, with 4½ furlong run-in. Races up to a mile are run on the straight course, from a spur. The ground is mainly flat and provides a fair test.

National Hunt:

Left-handed, galloping course that is generally flat. The jumps course runs around the inside of the flat course and is a separate track to the flat. The ground is rarely heavy going. The chase course includes 11 fences in a circuit and the hurdles course includes 8.

Going Racing at Doncaster


The racecourse is a mile from Doncaster town centre. From the south the A1 and M1/M18 are good routes. There are signs to the racecourse from the motorways.


Doncaster Central is the closest station. Buses 55, 170 and 171 from the station stop 300 metres from the racecourse itself.
